INDUCTION: 2026.

SPORT(S): FOOTBALL

Willie Carter, a 2013 graduate of Howard University, distinguished himself as one of the most accomplished wide receivers in Bison football history. A four-year starter, Carter made an immediate impact on the program and quickly established himself as one of the premier playmakers in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

As a true freshman in 2008, Carter delivered a standout season that earned him MEAC Rookie of the Year honors, becoming one of the conference’s brightest young stars. Throughout his collegiate career, he consistently demonstrated excellence on the field, earning All-MEAC recognition in all four seasons and becoming a four-time All-Conference selection.

During his 38-game career with the Bison, Carter recorded 179 receptions for more than 2,500 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. His reliability, explosive playmaking ability, and leadership helped elevate Howard’s offense and cemented his legacy among the university’s all-time greats. Carter’s accomplishments placed him among the most productive receivers of his era and made him a respected competitor throughout the MEAC.

Beyond the statistics and accolades, Carter embodied the pride, determination, and excellence that define Howard University athletics. His contributions to the football program and the lasting impact he made on teammates, coaches, and the Bison community have earned him a well-deserved place in the Howard University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Reflecting on his time at Howard, Carter shared: “My time at Howard produced some of the best moments of my life, and I cherish them to this day. I am truly blessed to know that my work in Greene Stadium did not go unnoticed. I’m forever grateful to be a Bison. HU… YOU KNOW!”
