Tonya Wilbon

Tonya Alisa Robinson Wilbon, is a proud graduate of Howard University. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology while exemplifying excellence both academically and athletically. From 1983 to 1987, she was a dedicated member of the Howard University Cheerleading Squad, where her leadership and passion quickly distinguished her among her peers. As a College Sophomore, she served as the Junior Varsity Cheerleader Advisor, mentoring and supporting the next generation of Howard University Varsity Cheerleaders. She later served as captain of the Howard University Varsity Cheerleading Squad for two consecutive years (1985-1987). Tonya Lisa helped
guide the team to success, including earning the prestigious Spirit Award at the UCA College Summer Cheerleading Camp. Her commitment and impact were further recognized when she received the Brenda G. Jenkins Outstanding Cheerleader Award during her Senior year on the squad, 1987.

 

Tonya Lisa’s dedication to leadership and service extended well beyond her collegiate years. She expanded her influence in youth development as Head Coach of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad for the Fort Meade Youth and Activity program, where her teams
earned numerous awards in competition. As a proud and engaged alumna, she has remained a strong advocate for the undergraduate cheerleading squad, consistently demonstrating her commitment to the Howard community. She is a charter member of the newly chartered Howard University Alumni Association (HUAA) HU Alumni Cheerleaders Association Club, the HUACA Club, and currently serves as the club’s inaugural President. Professionally, she has built a distinguished career with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where she serves as an Assistant Director within the Division of Industry and Consumer Education. In every role, she continues to embody
leadership, mentorship, and a lifelong dedication to excellence.
