Michael Archie

Michael "Mike" Archie is a former athlete and retired broadcast and record industry professional, with over 20  years of experience within the industry.

Mike, a 3-Time Division I All-American, was a member of Howard's nationally ranked 4 x 400 Meter, Mile Relay and Sprint Medley teams and a 2-Time MEAC 800 Meter Champion. He is Howard's all-time middle-distance record holder in the 800.

A native Washingtonian: born in historic Freedman's Hospital, he holds a B.A. in Broadcast Management from Howard University School of Communications and worked at WHUR-FM, for over a decade, serving as Public Service Director, Music Director and as a swing announcer.

Throughout his Radio and Records career, he produced live Howard University Football and Basketball broadcasts and  Public Affairs Events, including Project Harvest, The Morning Sound Breakfast Club, The 20th Anniversary March on Washington and Live Broadcasts from Disneyworld.

Before joining Columbia Records/Sony Music Entertainment, Mike held key roles at WHUR-FM, where he was successfully named  Music Director of the Year by Black Radio Exclusive and received the same Honor from the Gavin Report.  He was nominated by Billboard Magazine four consecutive years in 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1991.

A strong believer in continuous growth and giving back to the community, Mike actively contributes to the American Diabetes Association and Second Harvest Food Bank. He has awarded scholarships and raised funds for local high schools. 

In Florida, following Hurricanes Mathew and Irma, he successfully spearheaded the rehabilitation of multiple homes, which resulted in relocating displaced seniors.
