Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Donald Griggs attended Howard University from 2003–2007, where he became a standout wide receiver and three‑year starter for the Bison. During his senior season, he earned multiple honors, including 2007 First Team All‑MEAC, 2007 FCS All‑American Honorable Mention, 2007 Black College All‑American, and the 2007 DC Pigskin All‑Metropolitan Player of the Year.
Griggs remains one of the most accomplished receivers in Howard football history. He is the HU record holder for touchdown receptions in a season, touchdown receptions in a career, and consecutive games with a touchdown catch—milestones that reflect his consistency, playmaking ability, and impact on the program.
Across his collegiate career, Griggs exemplified excellence, discipline, and leadership, leaving a legacy that continues to stand among the best in Howard University football.
