Cedric is a proud graduate of Howard University, where he was a three‑time MEAC Champion and team captain. A life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, he continues to exemplify leadership, service, and excellence.
Cedric Crear is a highly respected businessman and community leader whose career reflects decades of strategic impact, revitalization‑driven development, and dedicated public service. With a proven record of C‑suite accomplishments and transformative work in underserved communities, he has established himself as one of Las Vegas’s most influential civic and business figures.
Cedric’s professional journey began in the gaming industry, where he worked in multiple operational departments before rising to Director of Marketing for several Station Casinos properties. In that role, he managed multimillion‑dollar budgets and drove record revenues, demonstrating both operational expertise and executive‑level leadership.
He later founded Crear Creative Group Marketing (CCG) and Crear Outdoor Advertising, serving as President from inception. In 2012, CCG merged with Magnum Integrated Marketing, forming one of the nation’s leading marketing and advertising firms specializing in hospitality and public‑sector industries.
Cedric’s commitment to education and public service is equally distinguished. He served on the Board of Regents for the Nevada System of Higher Education, representing District 1 after being elected in 2006 and re‑elected in 2012. During his tenure, he chaired the Cultural Diversity and Title IX Compliance Committee and served as Vice Chair of the Business, Finance and Facilities, and Investment Committees.
In 2015, he was appointed as a Las Vegas Planning Commissioner, and in 2017, he was elected Las Vegas Councilman for Ward 5. In this role, he has led more than $1 billion in investments into a community long considered overlooked, championing development, equity, and opportunity.
Cedric currently serves as a partner and Vice President of Government Relations for Onda Housing Group, a national developer of multifamily affordable housing. He leads policy advocacy at the federal, state, and local levels, advancing housing access and community revitalization nationwide. He is also a shareholder in SF Paris Restaurant Group, owners of Alexxa’s Restaurant & Bar and Big Chicken with Shaquille O’Neal, and an investor and Board Member of Lexicon Bank in Las Vegas.
Cedric and his wife, Keiba (’91), met on his second day on campus and have been together for 39 years, married for 32. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Hagan (’21) and Kennedy.
